New kid in town!

DC-9-80 is back...

Maddog, our historical bird!

Entering service in early 80s, "Super 80" became leading workhorse of Inex Adria Aviopromet (Adria Airways) for almost 20 years to follow. Its predecessor, Douglas DC-9 left a great mark and Super 80 hadn't really had much of a hard work to keep the faith and pride of the lovely T-tails.

But beyond all the great memories, this bird was also part of the tragical side of the story. After not-so-brilliant safety record of the company at the time, following the 2 major accidents of DC-9s, Inex Adria Aviopromet lost its 3rd aircraft in 1981.

Brand new YU-ANA departed Ljubljana for Ajaccio in the early morning hours of December the 1st, carrying 180 passengers and 6 crew members, 186 souls who took off for one last time.

This year being 40th anniversary, we did not forget about the tragedy and we want to pay a special tribute by reviving YU-ANA. 40 years after its last flight, this bird will join vADR's fleet again and continue its journey, which shouldn't have ended the way it did that misty morning on Corsica.

More information about entering of new fleet "member" into service to follow!
