Rome

is the capital city and a special comune of Italy (named Comune di Roma Capitale), as well as the capital of the Lazio region. The city has been a major human settlement for almost three millennia. With 2,860,009 residents in 1,285 km2 (496.1 sq mi), it is also the country's most populated comune. It is the third most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. It is the centre of the Metropolitan City of Rome, which has a population of 4,355,725 residents, thus making it the most populous metropolitan city in Italy. Its metropolitan area is the third-most populous within Italy.

Rome has a Mediterranean climate. The best times to visit Rome is in spring (late March till beginning of June) and fall(September through mid-November) although it does tend to rain bit more in October. Summers can be very hot in Rome with an average of 31 degrees Celsius (87.8° Fahrenheit) and it can get really chilly in winter (December through February). Rome is packed during the summer tourist high season, which starts the end of June and finishes end August

Ciampino is the secondary international airport of Rome, the capital of Italy, after Rome-Fiumicino Airport "Leonardo da Vinci". It is a joint civilian, commercial and military airport situated 6.5 NM (12.0 km; 7.5 mi) south southeast of central Rome, just outside the Greater Ring Road (Italian: Grande Raccordo Anulare or GRA) the circular motorway around the city.
