Tel Aviv

is the most populous city in the Gush Dan metropolitan area of Israel. Located on the Israeli Mediterranean coastline and with a population of 460,613, it is the economic and technological center of the country. If East Jerusalem is considered part of Israel, Tel Aviv is the country's second most populous city after Jerusalem; if not, Tel Aviv is the most populous city before West Jerusalem.

Tel Aviv has a warm Mediterranean climate. This means warm dry summers and mild wet winters. Tel Aviv-Jaffa is a very sunny destintaion with an average of 3300 hours of sunshine a year. Tel Aviv experiences mild winter temperatures around 17-18 degrees Celsius (62-64° Fahrenheit) during the day. In summer the temperature will rise to an average of around 30 degrees Celsius (86° Fahrenheit).

Ben Gurion is the main international airport of Israel and the busiest one in the country. The airport is located on the northern outskirts of the city of Lod, about 45 km (28 mi) northwest of Jerusalem and 20 km (12 mi) southeast of Tel Aviv.
